The Skerries are located about 3km of the North West corner of Anglesey. HM Navy has recorded up to 12knots of tide roaring past this rocky Island. Creating one of the most challenging day trips in the Area. Departure places are dictated by the Tide on a given day. A good level of fitness is essential for what is a must-do sea kayak trip when visiting Anglesey. We will probably encounter one or more tiderace/es on the way, and there is often a swell present. One can expect beautiful wildlife encounters and great views of the surrounding Coast of Anglesey, weather permitting of course.
Prereq: Personal skills at a good or above BC Seakayak Award Level, (BCU 3*+). Efficient paddling skills, and experience in rescuing and being rescued. Being comfortable in your boat for 1 1/2 -3 hours and experience in moving water and waves.

Die Skerries befinden sich ca. 3 km vor der Nord West Ecke von Anglesey. Diese Fels Insel sitzt in starker Tide und die Britische Marien hat bis zu 12 knoten Flies Geschwindigkeit in der Umgebung gemessen. Von wo man die Querung zu den Skerries auf sich nimmt hängt ganz alleine von der Tide am jeweiligen Tag ab. Auf unserem Weg werden wir entweder eine oder mehrere Tiden Turbulenze/n erfahren, und es ist oft auch Schwell vorhanden. Eine gewisse Fitness muss da sein, aber der Aufwand lohnt sich da die “Skerries”-Tour, ein Must ist wenn man schon mal nach Anglesey kommt! Sobald man ankommt, kann man tolles Tier leben und fantastische Aussichten auf die Küste von Anglesey erwarten…, mit entsprechend wetter natürlich.
Vorraussetzung: Du solltest dich auf einem guten BC See Kajak Award/ Seebefähigung (BCU 3*) Level befinden. Effiziente paddle Technik, Erfahrung in Retten und bergen, Kompetenz in welligen Bedingungen, und Strömung sind erforderlich. Wir werden ca. 1 1/2 -3 Stunden am Stück unterwegs sein.
